(CNN) — Can an accomplished writer redefine the genre in the wake of the current Teen Paranormal Romance scene?
Foyle’s, London, J.K Rowling, the author of the acclaimed Harry Potter book series and recent novel, “The Casual Vacancy,” announces the continuation of the story and re-editing of the original seven books in the works.
“I had always felt that the Children had been given a gift in the stories, something the adult readers could never fully follow. I wanted to reconnect with the adult audience that I felt had aged with the characters. More children are turning to books like ‘Twilight’ and we’re hard pressed to give them a substantial understanding of modern day difficulties.”
Rowling has stated further that she intends to revisit the characters and provide the back-story that she felt was lacking.
“Harry Potter was just a young boy thrown into a horrible series of events. I wanted him to have a real love experience that I felt the books never went into. Suddenly he’s married, but I always wanted to tell a little more about that dark age of the story. Readers had a faint understanding of Severus Snape and I wanted to revisit that, as well. Harry’s Children will play a big role in the new trilogy that I’ve been musing with, but we won’t seeing that for a few more years.”
